Pakistan People's Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari paid rich tribute to Begum Nusrat Bhutto on her 90th birth anniversary, saying Madar-e-Jamhooriyat (Mother of Democracy) was a brave and steadfast great daughter of Pakistan.
"Each member of her family who sacrificed life was brilliant and had eminent upright character. The history of Pakistan will not go ahead without mentioning the sacrifices of Begum Nusrat Bhutto and her family," he said in a statement.
Bilawal, the maternal grandson of Nusrat, said she led the movement for the restoration of democracy and challenged the dictator of the time after Zulfikar Ali Bhutto was 'judicially assassinated.' Bilawal said PPP inherits the legacy of Begum Nusrat, including her struggle and sacrifices. He vowed that the party would keep struggling for the same without any fear.
