CPLC hosts event to laud performance of Karachi police

Citizen Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) on Friday organised a seminar titled 'Performance Appreciation and Capacity Building' which, the CPLC chief said, is aimed at encouraging those police officials who have rendered sacrifices in fight against terrorism and restored peace in Karachi. "This metropolis has witnessed a considerable decline in heinous crimes such as target killing, extortions, kidnapping for ransom during the last three to four years and that is just because of peace efforts by law enforcement agencies particularly the police," CPLC Chief (South) Akhtar Younis said, speaking at the seminar, held at Saleem Wahidi Auditorium, (Driving License Branch).
The event saw huge participation from police officers and cops. Karachi Police Chief Ameer Shaikh, DIG South Sharjeel Kharal, senior police officials of South Zone, SSP Peer Muhammad Shah, SSP City Muqadas Hadier, SSP Investigation 1 Tariq Dahrajo, SSP Investigation 2 Zumair, SP Clifton Sohaye Aziz also attended the seminar.
Deputy Inspector General South Sharjeel Kharal on said there is an engagement between police and CPLC. He said both of them had been making coordinated efforts against crimes particularly on kidnapping for ransom for the last 29 years. He also underscored the need of behavioural change within policemen.
The police officers who performed well on their respective duties were given rewards. The CPLC South chief and members appreciated the efforts made by IGP Sindh Dr Kaleem Imam for maintaining law and order in the province.
