Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) which is the biggest university of distance learning in the country has decided to introduce new digitalization policy in the university.
Vice Chancellor AIOU Dr Zia Ul Qayyum while talking to Business Recorder disclosed that preparation for new digitalization policy for the university is under way. As per policy the whole system of the university will be digitalized. The name of the new policy is Digital Transformation Policy. The new policy will be introduced after consultation with the stake holders.
Zia said that there are three components of digitalization policy which includes introduction of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Technology on administrative level which will be helpful in bringing transparency in financial matters and human resource management.
The second component will be campus management according to which academic system will be digitalized. The students will be part of this system till the completion of the degree. The third important component of the policy will be tutors.
He said that to bring improvement in the academic system we will bring change in the monitoring and recruitment system of the tutors. He also said that approximately 90,000 tutors were recruited for different degree programs.
The new portal is being designed through which registration of all tutors will be cancelled and new tutors will be registered after complete scrutiny for one year.
