Rallies held in support of Pakistan army

Workers of different political and religious parties staged rallies against Indian aggression and to express solidarity with Pakistan Army here on Friday. A number of workers of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Sami (JUI-S), consisting students of different seminaries, gathered at Aabpara Chowk to show solidarity with the Armed Forces after Pakistan Air Force (PAF) shot down two IAF fighter jets in wake of airspace violations.
Heavy contingents of police were deployed on the occasion in order to avert any untoward incident. The activists of religious parties were holding party flags and pictures of Chief of the Army Staff (CoAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa. They chanted slogans in favour of Pakistan Army and against the Indian government. They also set Indian national flag on fire.
Meanwhile, activists of Muslim Conference staged a rally in front of the National Press Club (NPC). The rally was led by former prime minister Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJ&K) Sardar Attique Khan.
They renewed the support to the armed forces and lauded the Pakistan Air Force for giving a befitting response to India by downing its jet fighters. Speaking on the occasion, Attique said, "We pay tribute to Pakistan Army for strategic achievement," adding that Pakistan is a peaceful country and Pak Army knows defending its borders.
Another rally was staged by the activists of Abbasi Welfare Foundation. The participants of the rally were holding placards inscribed with slogans in favour of peace, Pakistan and Pakistan armed forces.
