PM Khan bashes the 'ruling elite' scared of ECL

Taking a jibe yet again at those reacting to the Exit Control List’s (ECL) decision by the government, Prime Minister Imran Khan said on Saturday that the beauty and diversity of Pakistan was not appreciated by the ruling elite for whom ECL was such a calamity.

The premier posted a series of videos on his Twitter handle showing the beauty of Pakistan. In one video PM Khan wrote that Pakistan's majestic beauty and diversity is unparalleled.

The premier said that the majestic beauty and diversity of the country was sadly not appreciated by the 'ruling elite' but for them the ECL was 'such a calamity.'

He said that our country's magnificence was so captivating that he will be happy staying in Pakistan and working for his people.

This is not the first time that the prime minister has reacted to the ECL issue raised by the opposition. Earlier, PM Khan had questioned why the lawmakers wanted to go abroad when they have so much work in Pakistan. He wondered why the lawmakers were scared of their names being placed on the ECL.

He added,"Can anyone explain this strange phenomenon to those of us who would be quite happy to remain in and work for Pakistan because we actually love Pakistan."

The government has placed names of 172 prominent personalities on the ECL for their alleged involvement in the fake accounts case. However, after the Supreme Court's order, the federal government removed Pakistan Peoples Party Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah's names from the no-fly list.
