Hafeez elected LHCBA president

Members Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) here Saturday elected Hafeez-ur-Rehman Chaudhary as president of the bar for the year 2019-20. Out of 16,226 votes, 7,522 bar members used their right to franchise for electing their representatives for the next year. Hafeez-ur-Rehman lead by independent group bagged 3871 votes while his rival Khadim Hussain Qaisar of the Professional Group got 2,391 votes. Third candidate for president slot Sajid Bashir of Latif Khosa Group clinched 1225 votes.
Fiaz Ahmad Ranja received 4659 votes for slot of secretary while his opponent Allah Baksh Laghari got 1241 and Ch. Sohail Umer Gujar secured 1525 votes. For office of the Vice President Kabir Ahmad Chaudhary secured 2304 votes and his opponents Barrister Ch Saeed Hussain Nagra got 1915, Rana Irshad Manj 722, Sardar Najeeb Akbar Khan 406, Shaista Qaisar 1381 and Waseem Ahmad Butt grabbed 736 votes. Ansar Jamil Gujar was elected finance secretary by securing 5370 votes while his opponent candidate Misbha Sarwar Goriya got 2081 votes.
