Cabinet to discuss stand-off with India today

The federal cabinet to discuss stand-off with India in the aftermath of the Pulwama incident and the recent visit of Saudi Crown Prince, Muhammad Bin Salman (MBS), including investment from Saudi Arabia on Thursday (today).
Presided over by Prime Minister, Imran Khan, the cabinet is likely to approve the Exist Control List (ECL) and impose restrictions on travel of Mian Shahbaz Sharif, Opposition Leader in the National Assembly and Agha Siraj Duranni, Speaker Sindh Assembly, who was arrested by the NAB on Wednesday.
Dr Ishrat Hussain, Prime Minister's Adviser on Institutional Reforms and Austerity will give a presentation to the cabinet on security of tenure for civil servants.
Other agenda items of the cabinet meeting are as follows: (i) ex-post facto approval-MoU on Industrial Cooperation between National Development and Reform Commission of China and Federal Board of Investment Pakistan; (ii) post-factor approval of the cabinet for appointments of Administrator and deputy Administrators made in abandoned properties organisation; (iii) posting of the chairman, Employees Old Age Benefits Institution (EOBI); (iv) MoU between Yunnan Minzu University, China and National University of Modern Languages (NUML) ;(v) policy for change of profession in passport; (vi) extradition of accused Abdul Qadar Ahsan from Pakistan to UK; (vi) appointment of Chairman, Implementation Tribunal for Newspaper Employees (vii) appointment of judge/President of the Special Court constituted under criminal law amendment (Special Court) Act, 1976); and (viii) approval in principle for draft Federal Health Levy Bill, 2019 to impose health levy on cigarettes and sugar-sweetened beverages (harmful products).
