Activities at Karachi and Qasim Ports

The Karachi Port handled 166,046 tonnes of cargo comprising 127,932 tonnes of import cargo and 38,114 tonnes of export cargo including 4,848 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Monday. The total import cargos of 127,932 tonnes comprised of 37,455 tonnes of containerised cargo and 90,477 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 38,114 tonnes comprised of 27,119 tonnes of containerised cargo; 5,476 tonnes of bulk cargo and 5,519 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 4,848 containers comprising of 2,632 containers import and 2,216 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,108 of 20's and 602 of 40's loaded while 10 of 20's and 155 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 848 of 20's and 193 of 40's loaded containers while 98 of 20's and 442 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were five ships namely YM Efficiency, Northern Discovery, CMA CGM Norma, Cora and Glorious carrying containers and oil tankers respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were six vessels viz. Barbara, MS Tiger, Hyundai Loyalty, MT Karachi and MT Lahore carrying containers and oil tankers respectively currently at the berths.

A cargo volume of 107,949 tonnes comprising 74,756 tonnes of import cargo and 33,193 tonnes of export cargo including 1,847 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Monday.
The total import cargo of 74,756 tonnes includes 11,306 tonnes of palm oil; 59,500 tonnes of coal; 000 tonnes of canola; 2,050 tonnes of LPG and 1,900 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 33,193 tonnes includes 33,193 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 1,847 containers comprising of 1,747 containers import and 100 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Monday.
There was one ship namely CV Safmarine Ngami carrying containers sailed out to sea on Monday morning, while two more ships namely MT White Purl and MT Chemroad Lily carrying LPG and palm oil respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of six vessels were occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, LPG and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
As many as seventeen vessels viz. MV Hong Yuan, MV Bottiglieri Franco, MV Asia Emerald-IV, MV El Matador, MV Vita Harmony, MV Port Macau, MV Valvovine, MV Ikan Pulass, MV WH YasHipark, MV Clipper Helen, MT Caspian Gas, MT Hong Ze HV, MT Spica, MT Chemroad Dita, MT Globe Glory, MT Gao Cheng-2 and MT Ginga Jaguar respectively carrying soyabean, coal, chemical, LPG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were six vessels viz. CV MSC Agrigento, CV Seamax Darien, MV Sea Sapphire, MV Vita Harmony, MV Calipper Helen and MT Chemroad Dita carrying containers, steel product, coal, chemical and palm oil respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Monday
There are two ships namely CV Seamax Darein and CV MSC Agrigato carrying containers due to arrive on Monday. There is one ship namely CV APL Savannah carrying containers due to arrive on Tuesday, while two more ships namely CV Maersk Chicago and CV MOL Gateway carrying containers are due to arrive on Wednesday.
