200 illegal structures razed in Peshawar

The district administration has demolished more than 200 illegal infrastructures on Irrigation Department property during an operation. On the direction of Deputy Commissioner Dr Imran Hamid Sheikh, the local administration team led by Additional Deputy Commissioner Peshawar, Shahid Ali Khan and Additional Assistant Commissioner Abdul Wali Khan had carried out crackdown at Warsak Road, Darmangi.
The anti-encroachment operation was jointly launched by officials of Irrigation Department and the police. The ADC Shahid Ali khan told this scribe that government will not tolerate any illegal construction on government property. The operation will be carried out without any discrimination until all the government property is recovered. The Deputy Commissioner warned the voluntarily remove encroachment otherwise we have all the required machinery to recover government property. At least 22 shopkeepers were barred due to illegal encroachment on footpath in the Sikandarpura bazaar and Hashnaghari. The operation was undertaken by the direction of Deputy Commissioner DR Imran Hamid Sheikh under the supervision of Additional Deputy Commissioner Peshawar, Sara Rehman and Assistant Commissioner UT Saman Abbas.
