Punjab government to establish 'Small Industries Estate' in Taunsa Sharif

With an estimated cost of Rs 428.880 million, the Punjab government is going to establish "Small Industries Estate" over 400 Kanals state land in the native city of chief minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar Tehsil Taunsa Sharif district Dera Ghazi Khan, Business Recorder has learnt. In this regard, the Punjab Small Industries Corporation (PSIC) has moved PC-I of the scheme with gestation period of three years.
The Punjab chief minister wrote a letter to the commissioner Dera Ghazi Khan asking him to make necessary arrangements for the setting up Small Industrial Estate in Tehsil Taunsa Sharif, district Dera Ghazi Khan. This Estate will help to improve economic condition of the Taunsa city and adjoining areas as well as tribal areas."
After direction from Chief Minister Punjab, the Commissioner Dera Ghazi Khan identified a state land in Mouza Taunsa Sharif. The said land falls in Khasra No 934,935.
The Commissioner has also approached the Board of Revenue Punjab for transfer of the said land to the Punjab Industries department. The Punjab industrial department has also submitted PC-1 to the Punjab finance department for release of funds.
PC-1 document of the scheme narrates "keeping in view of the above project, it is requested Rs 75.920 million including the cost of land of Rs. 41.250 million may be released during Financial Year 2018-19 for establishment of Small Industrial Estate at Taunsa D. G. Khan.
It is pertinent to mention here that Rs 173.495 million and Rs 179.467 million will be released for the financial year 2019-20 and 2020-21 respectively for the completion of project.
