Commodity prices to figure atop Cabinet agenda today

The Cabinet, which is scheduled to meet Thursday (Feb 7) with Prime Minister Imran Khan in the chair, will get a detailed presentation of prices of essential commodities as, according to Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS), inflation has crossed 7 percent mark.
The Cabinet will also allot funds for bye-elections 2018 on the recommendations of Ministry of Defence, and allow signing of MoU between TDPA and Trade Promotion Agencies of Belgium.
Other agenda items included:(i) transfer of Directorate General of Special Education to Ministry of National Health Services & Coordination; (ii) appointment of Director General (Debt) MP-I scale; (iii) reconstitution of the Audit Oversight Board; (iv) nomination for the Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan; (v) cabinet's approval for signing arrangement for the establishment of policy consultation talks between the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Philippines and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; (vi) provision of supplementary grant in lieu of expenditure Incurred on a chartered PIA flight, carrying resident diplomats and media teams from Islamabad-Lahore-Kartarpur for attending the ground breaking ceremony of Kartarpur Corridor; (vii) request for supplementary grant amounting to Rs 78 million for Interior Division; (viii) request for provision of funds to replace the CCTV cameras Installed in Islamabad High Court; (ix) supplementary grant amounting to Rs 429 million for Pakistan Rangers for the period from July 2018 to June 2019; (x) signing of MoU with the government of Vietnam for cooperation in sports; (xi) technical supplementary grant of Rs 20,117,000 current expenditure of Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination; (xii) approval of the cabinet for signing of the memorandum of understanding between agency under the state financial control and struggle against corruption of Tajikistan and National Accountability Bureau; (xiii) extension in deputation term of Suresh Kumar, District and Session Judge/Judge, Special Court (Central), Hyderabad; (xiv) approval of the budget proposal for the Year 2018-19 & Revised Budget Estimate for 2017-18 of EOBI; (xv) transfer of health related organisations/ subjects/incumbents from Cabinet Division to Ministry of National Health Services, Regulations and Coordi-nation; (xvi) additional charge of managing director Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) and; (xvii) reconstitution of Bait-ul-Mal Board.
