Former President Asif Ali Zardari on Saturday urged the media to support the opposition's attempts to remove Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) from power. He promised to help the media in return, saying that their difficulties would be eliminated. The PPP leader said that he would address various issues being faced by the nation and the country's news industry if the media supports the opposition's movement aimed at removal of the PTI-led government.
Speaking on the Kashmir dispute, he expressed hope to see Kashmir free from Indian occupation in his lifetime. "Kashmir is in our DNA..... Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi must realise that Pakistan's stance on the Kashmir issue is not limited to any government's policy....... All political parties are on the same page on the issue of Kashmir," he said, addressing a Kashmir Conference, here on Saturday.
Pakistan People's Party co-chairman Zardari said that the Pakistani nation is one and united for Kashmir cause and it would never abandon the people of Kashmir.
"We will never forget Kashmir. We will never leave Kashmir. Pakistan's political parties have always set aside their differences on Kashmiri cause. Kashmir is in our DNA. It is an integral part of the Pakistani identity and we will never let Kashmir be separated from us. I hope to see Kashmir free in my lifetime," he said, sending a clear message to Indian Prime Minister Nardenra Modi.
He reiterated that Kashmir is one sticking point of all political parties in spite of political differences among them. He said that Pakistan's efforts to resolve the Kashmir issue were dealt serious blows during the times of military dictatorships but Pakistan's younger generations would pursue the matter till a fair resolution is achieved. Calling for international intervention against New Delhi, Asif Ali Zardari said Islamabad would continue to use all global forums to highlight Indian brutalities in Occupied Kashmir.
