Acquittal plea: Saeed's plea for further arguments allowed

An Accountability Court hearing a corruption case against former Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Wednesday approved the request of co-accused Saeed Ahmed, former president of National Bank of Pakistan (NBP), for further arguments on his acquittal plea.
Accountability Court Judge Muhammad Bashir while hearing the case accepted Ahmed's request to allow further arguments on his acquittal application and asked both the parties to make further augments. Earlier, the court reserved its judgement on Ahmed's petition seeking his acquittal on June 12, 2018. All the three co-accused including Saeed, Mansoor Raza Rizvi and Naeem Mehmood both the directors of Dar's companies, appeared before the court.
During the hearing, the court recorded the statement of prosecution witness Muhammad Aftab. The witness produced the banking record related to the case before the court and it was made part of the court record. The witness will make of his statement during the next hearing as well. The court summoned prosecution witness Naveed Ahmed and adjourned the hearing till February 6.
