Protesting doctors call off strike

Advisor to Chief Minister Sindh on Information, Law & Anti-Corruption, Barrister Murtaza Wahab said that protesting young doctors have announced to end their strike following successful negotiations.
Talking to media persons, flanked by doctors' representatives Dr Peer Manzoor and Dr Ahmed Sultan at Sindh Assembly on Wednesday evening, he said that Health department have agreed to the genuine and bone fide demands of protesting young doctors and OPDs of all hospital would be opened in the evening, adding that Sindh doctors would be given same allowances like Punjab.
Advisor Information said that the top priority of the government is to provide relief as much as to the patients. He said that Sindh government has established state of art health institutions in the province like NICVD and Gambat Institute of health science that were providing world class health services to poor people of the province as well country.
To a question, he said that health professionals come under essential services and they have discussed with doctors' representatives to devise a mechanism so as to avoid strikes in future.
