UNGA President visits markets of Islamabad

The visiting President of UN General Assembly Maria Fernanda Espinosa on Saturday spent her second day in the federal capital by visiting markets for shopping, reflecting improved security situation in the country. President Espinosa who is visiting Pakistan from January 18 to 22- 2019, had earlier held meetings with Prime Minister Imran Khan and Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi upon her arrival on Friday last.
On Saturday, the UNGA President along with Pakistan's Permanent Representative to the UN Dr Maleeha Lodhi visited a local market and enjoyed shopping. She was later joined by Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua for a dinner at a local restaurant at the top of Margalla Hills.
According to a press release of the UN Information Centre here, Espinosa's delegation includes her Chef de Cabinet, a senior adviser, a communications specialist, a coordination officer and her personal assistant. Travel costs are being covered by Pakistan and by the regular budget of the PGA Office, it added.
