Robbery cases on the rise in Capital

The capital city witnessed an increase in incidents of robbery and snatching at gunpoint during the last week, as over 18 cases of different kinds of theft were reported to various police stations of the city. According to data gathered by Business Recorder here on Saturday, the robbers struck at 18 places in the city wherein the citizens lost valuables worth millions of rupees while the auto thieves stole seven vehicles including bikes from various parts of the city.
Most 'favourite' areas for the criminal gangs were within the limits of Karachi Company, Noon, Bhara Kahu, Shalimar, Nilor and Sihala police stations. During the aforementioned period, Karachi Company police station registered two cases each of robbery and snatching as well as two cases of car lifting. One citizen Imran Khan informed Karachi Company police station that the accused Abid Hussain along with Usman stole gold ornaments valuing Rs 350,000 from his house.
In another incident, one Ahsan Ullah filed a complaint with Karachi Company police station, stating that unidentified robbers stole foreign and local currency of Rs 200,000 worth from his house. One Arif Khan filed a complaint with the same police station that two armed persons snatched jewellery from a citizen Naseem Bano and cash of Rs 385,000 at a clinic.
A victim Nabi Bakhsh informed Karachi Company police station that two armed persons riding a bike snatched a cell phone and Rs 15,000 cash from him. The auto thieves stole a bike (RIW-3010) valuing Rs 80,000 of one Muhammad Ajmal and lifted a car (LXB-8866) of another Muhammad Azhar valuing Rs 500,000 from the limits of same police station.
During the aforementioned period, Bhara Kahu police station registered two cases of robbery. One Rabia Haleem informed Bhara Kahu police station that unidentified robbers stole an LED, prize bonds, jewellery and other valuables valuing Rs 750,000 from her house.
In another incident, one Khursheed Ahmed filed a complaint with Bhara Kahu police station that unidentified robbers stole an LED, laptop, jewellery and Rs 1,500,000 cash from his house. Shalimar police station registered two cases of theft and one case of carjacking during the aforementioned period. A citizen Arshad Khan informed Shalimar police station that unknown robbers stole cash, jewellery and a wristwatch from his house.
In another incident, Hanif Muhammad filed a complaint with Shalimar police station that unknown persons stole Rs 500,000 cash from his car. The motor vehicle thieves stole a car bearing registration number HX-854 of a citizen Faiz Ahmed valuing Rs 1000,000.
During the period under review, Nilor police station registered two cases of robbery. One Kashif Zia filed a complaint with Nilor police station that unidentified robbers stole gold ornaments valuing Rs 4,500,000 from his house.
In the same period, Sihala police station registered two cases of robbery. One Haq Nawaz informed Sihala police station that unidentified robbers stole one laptop and Rs 1,530,000 cash from his house. One Naeem informed Sihala police station that five unknown persons stormed into his house and snatched local and foreign currency as well as jewellery, valuing Rs 1,400,000.
