Foggy weather forecast for South Punjab and upper Sindh

The Meteorological department has forecast foggy weather conditions in South Punjab and Upper Sindh during morning and night. In its weather forecast for today (Saturday) Met office said that rain-thunderstorm with snow over the hills is expected at scattered places in Malakand, Hazara, Rawalpindi, Lahore divisions, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir, while at isolated places in Peshawar, Kohat, Mardan, Bannu, Sargodha, Sahiwal and Gujranwala divisions. Cold and dry weather elsewhere in the country.
Foggy conditions are expected in south Punjab and upper Sindh during morning/night hours. Snowfall over the mountains is also expected in Murree, Galliyat, Malakand division, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir during the period.
It said westerly wave is passing over upper parts of the country and may persist till Sunday morning.
Lowest minimum temperature on Friday: Kalam, Skardu -09°C, Astore -08°C, Gupis -07°C, Hunza, Bagrote -06°C, Gilgit, Rawalakot, Malamjabba, Dir -03°C, Parachinar -02°C, Chitral, Drosh, Kakul, Muzaffarabad, Bunji -01°C., Lahore 02°C, Karachi 15°C.
Weather Outlook for Pakistan for January 2019. The global climate forecasting indicates that El-Nino conditions are likely to strengthen during the month. The North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO) and Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD) will persist in its neutral phase. Based on the statistical downscaling of Global Climate Models, the weather outlook produced for the month of January 2019 is as follows:
Overall normal rainfall is likely to occur in the country, whereas northern parts of the country, including upper KP, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu & Kashmir may get slightly above normal rainfall/snowfall.
Southern Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan are expected to receive slightly below normal rainfall.
Due to cold temperature, foggy weather conditions are expected in the plains of central and lower Punjab, Peshawar & Hazara Division of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
