Upcoming Finance Bill has measures to ease business activities, assures Asad Umar

Assuring that the Finance Bill will provide measures to ease doing business in Pakistan, the Finance Minister Asad Umar announced that the government will be presenting the mini-budget on January 23.

Addressing the business community in Karachi, he said that the delay in presenting the mini-budget was due to Prime Minister Imran Khan's foreign visit. He said that the bill will give measures to ease business in Pakistan. The minister added that the government wants to enhance trade activities and improve national economy.

Umar further said that reforms in Federal Board of Revenue are being undertaken and the board's powers have been devolved to lower level. Maintaining that economy is a core component of the country's foreign policy, Umar said the government aims to create a beneficial environment in order to encourage and attract foreign investment that would benefit the economy, local media reported.

He added that the incumbent government wants to lower the consumption and increase investments. He said once the country starts getting investments, economy would be uplifted and that means employment opportunities will increase.
