Sharif brothers discuss future plan if verdict not in Nawaz's favor

Nawaz Sharif and Shehbaz Sharif have decided to launch a mass contact movement if the accountability court's verdict in corruption references, which will be announced on Monday, is against the deposed premier.

The two brothers met on Thursday at the Parliament House where they discussed the pending verdict. According to sources, during the meeting, the brothers decided to launch a mass contact movement if the accountability court convicts Nawaz in Al-Azizia and Flagship references filled by National Accountability Bureau (NAB), local media reported. Sharif brothers also agreed that they would keep their silence if the court rules in Nawaz's favor. Nawaz and Shehbaz also discussed different political issues.

The accountability court reserved its judgment on Wednesday in the two remaining references against the Sharif family. Judge Arshad Malik is set to announce his verdict on December 24.

Earlier this year, an accountability court judge already convicted Nawaz, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Captain (retd) Safdar in the Avenfield reference case. Nawaz was awarded 10, Maryam seven and Safdar 1 year of jail time. However, they were released after the Islamabad High Court suspended their jail sentences.
