No compromise on corruption: Vawda

19 Dec, 2018

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda Wednesday said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government would not make any compromise on corruption and eliminate the menace from the country as it was part of the party manifesto.

Talking to a private news channel, the minister said the cases against former president Asif Ali Zardari were registered by the last Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz government.

Zardari should be disqualified as member of the National Assembly if he owned a property in the United States, which he had not declared in his nomination forms with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), he added.

Vawda said the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was an independent institution, who was investigating the cases against the corrupt without any influence or pressure.

Commenting on the allegations of Abid Sher Ali, he said he had declared all his all assets to the ECP.
