ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarian (PPPP) Tuesday repeated the mantra that the government was trying to roll back the 18th Constitutional Amendment.

Addressing a press conference PPPP Secretary Information Dr Nafeesa Shah along with Senator Maula Bakhsh Chandio, said the 18th Amendment was passed by all the political parties with consensus and urged the government to avoid confrontation that was not beneficial for the federation.

She said after the passage of eleven years of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto’s martyrdom, same challenges were emerging again in the country.

She alleged that the government was making the judiciary controversial.

Speaking on the occasion, Chandio accused the government of victimization of its political opponents in the name of accountability and questioned the role of National Accountability Bureau (NAB). The parliament was the best forum in the democratic countries to resolve all the issues amicably, he added.

He said the PPPP wanted the government to complete its constitutional term.
