Tributes paid to APS martyrs

FAISALABAD: Divisional Commissioner Faisalabad Asif Iqbal Chaudhry on Monday said that enemy could not defeat Pakistani nation as its children forged unity among all ranks by sacrificing their lives at Army Public School (APS) Peshawar tragedy.

He was paying tributes to APS martyrs during a special ceremony arranged by District Education Authority (DEA) in collaboration with Faisalabad Arts Council (FAC) here at Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Auditorium.

He said the entire nation had proud on APS martyrs who made the country invincible by awakening and uniting the people against terrorists.

Although APS tragedy was a horrible incident, yet it foiled nefarious designs of the enemy and now Pakistan was safe from hijacking by terrorists, he added.

Deputy Commissioner Sardar Saifullah Dogar, City Police Officer (CPO) Ashfaq Ahmad Khan, Chief Executive Officer DEA Ali Ahmad Siyan, Chairman Parks & Horticulture Authority (PHA) MNA Chaudhry Lateef Nazar, Navy Commander Farooq Ahmad Khan, Resident Director FAC Sofia Bedar and others were also present on the occasion.

During the ceremony, candles were also lit and flowers were laid in the memories of APS martyrs.

Students from different institutions presented skits and tableaus depicting the message against terrorism and to pay tributes to the martyrs.

Later, a solidarity walk was also held from Faisalabad Arts Council to Commissioner Complex.
