SHC seeks travel history from FIA regarding missing persons

13 Dec, 2018

A two-member bench of the SHC headed by Justice Naimtullah Phulputo heard the case and termed PTF and JIT reports ‘unsatisfied’.

Justice Phulputo remarked that Police always submit stereotype reports.

The Police officials in their report had informed the bench that a missing man, Shoiab Ghuffran, was killed in a police encounter in Dera Ghazi Khan.

On which, the bench remarked that PTF in its report had said that there was a clue found regarding Ghuffran’s missing.

It remarked there are 300 missing persons but PTF and JIT do not inform the court regarding the actual situation.  The court also sought travel history from Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) regarding all missing citizens.

It also remarked that Court had ordered JIT and PTF to separately probe into cases.

Ghani, father of a missing man, stated before the court that his son was disappeared on 13th November 2016 from Airport. ‘’I was telephoned from Sawat and informed that your son is here in Sawat,’’ he told the court.

He said I went to Sawat twice but neither had I found my son nor his whereabouts.

Brother of a missing man, Zubair, also stated before the court that his brother has been missing since 2014.

‘’Eight JITs were formed but there was no any progress report regarding my brother’s recovery,’’ he said The Court ordered JIT, PTF and Police to submit reports before it after recovering the missing citizens by 6th February.

The hearing was adjourned till 6th February.
