LARKANA: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) President Nisar Ahmed Khuhro said on Sunday that his party would support election before time if it is held.

It is evident from the prevailing situation in the country that early election should be held, he said while addressing a press conference at local press club today.

Khuhro said Election Commission should apologize to the nation for its bad performance.  “The nation had great hopes in those who chanted slogans of change, but now they are talking of election ahead of time so as to hide their failures as the price hike is at its peak and people are living in a miserable condition.”

He said a dollar had reached Rs 140 in four months due to which billions of rupees had been earned by stock exchange businessmen.

He said people had awaited three days for results of the recent general election, so this time free, fair and transparent election should be conducted.

Khuhro alleged that Prime Minister Imran Khan was big supporter of dictator Musharraf's referendum. He said that the federal government had now announced to rule the country through Ordinances which proved that such acts and thought were of dictator's minds.

He said, “The Prime Minister is unaware of the fact that the term for an Ordinance is only for four months and legislation through Ordinances will be undemocratic act.”

He said, “If presidents extends the time period of the ordinance, then it will be called adhocism.” He said ordinance should be presented in the parliament. He said 3% cut in NFC award would be unconstitutional. He said federal government had imposed censorship on media which was not acceptable.

Khuhro said the 27th December was a very sorrowful day as on this day, their leader Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto left them which they celebrated with heavy heart. He said encroachment drive was going on smoothly in Larkana. He said after removal of debris, roads in the city would become more widen. He said 14 new wide roads would be constructed in Larkana.
