President House opens for public

08 Dec, 2018

After opening three Governor Houses and a government rest house in Murree, the government as promised opened on Saturday the doors of the President House to the general public.

The public can visit the President House, also known as Aiwan-i-Sadr, from 9 am to 4 pm. The visitors will be granted access after showing computerized national identity card (CNIC) at the entrance. The public can visit the historic building and even the room where oath-taking ceremonies of top government functionaries, like the prime ministers take place.

The government has already allowed public access to the governor houses in Karachi, Lahore and Peshawar and also a government rest house in Murree. This move is in line with the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's (PTI) promise to allow public to visit the state buildings.
