Consultation with foreign countries under way for water plants in Karachi: Governor Ismail

The full functioning of Thar-Coal plants would help generate cheap electricity besides addressing energy issues of the province, he stated while talking to a private news channel.

Imran Ismail said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government, working under an active leadership of Imran Khan, had held discussion with Saudi Arabia, UAE and China. "We hope that stock exchange and other matters relating to economy would show better results in days to come, " he said.

The government would fulfill the promises made with the people during election drive, he added.

To a question the Governor said that Rangers should perform their duties in Karachi as extortion, target killing, mobile snatching and other criminal incidents had plummeted due to their efforts.

To another question about delay in projects, he said the Sindh government had barred the projects funded by federal government. We wanted to carry out works with Sindh but there are reservation over working of Chief Minister of the province.

In reply to a question about fake accounts, he said it was amazing that Ex-President Asif Ali Zardari had supportive remarks over the fake account holders. He, however said that PTI government would not spare any person involved in money laundering or any objectionable activities.

The inquiry had been conducted to identify the involvement of institutions like Karachi Development Authority, Lyari Development Authority, Malir Development Authority, for issuing orders for receiving rent amount from vendors selling their products on footpaths in different areas of Karachi.
