Govt committed to resolve GB issues on priority: Murad

ISLAMABAD: State Minister for Communications Murad Saeed Tuesday said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf government is committed to resolve the basic issues of Gilgit Baltistan (GB) on priority.

“Pragmatic steps are being taken that will enable the GB to play its due role in national development. The need is to ensure timely completion of the GB projects with the quality construction," he said this while talking to GB Governor Raja Jalal Hussain Maqpoon.

Murad said the GB will remain a part of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and to this effect practical advancement is being made on Joint Coordination Council level.

Projects like Chitral-Chakdara, Kohat-D I Khan, Hakla-D I Khan and Chitral Skardu stand among our priorities and will be completed with dedication and devotion, he added.

GB Governor Raja Jalal Hussain Maqpoon desired implementation of law of 2009 for restoration of identity of Gilgit Baltistan.

He said identity of GB as province is a long-standing demand of the people there. He said, development of the backward and developing areas is also included in vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Both the leaders determined to reduce the problems of the people of the GB and complete all the schemes including highway projects at the earliest.
