Pakistan to soon receive $1bn from Saudi Arabia: Asad Umar

Referring to the recent $6 billion package that was finalised to be given by Saudi Arabia, the Finance Minister Asad Umar said on Saturday that Pakistan will soon be receiving $1 billion of it from the kingdom.

Speaking at a meeting with industrialists at Overseas Chamber of Commerce, the finance minister said that they will receive the $1 billion from the kingdom within the next two days. The money  will be from $6 billion package that the Saudi government had pledged during Prime Minister Imran Khan's trip to kingdom last month.

The minister further said that the amount of aid being sought from the International Monetary Fund has not yet been determined. Talking about Hundi and other illegal methods, the minister said that these methods of bringing money has caused great damage to the nation, local media reported.

Umar also revealed they had found out that 4,000 Pakistanis own assets in Dubai while, 97,000 Pakistanis own properties in other countries.
