The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has adjourned hearing of contempt proceedings against Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan till May 31. Imran's reply was submitted by PTI Spokesman Fawad Chaudhary. Imran Khan argued that his previous statement was twisted in such a way that if left an impression as he did not respect the ECP and that is was why he has withdrawn it. "The lawyer misrepresented my statement which was why I had to withdraw it," he said.
He further said that he believes that a free and fair election commission is necessary for a just election. The reply explained, "I had filed an application on January 9 through a lawyer, with suggestions regarding bringing transparency into the commission."
