OnePlus launched the its much-awaited OnePlus 6T, what it calls the smartphone of the year, at its event yesterday.

Smartphone manufacturer OnePlus had its event on Monday in New York where it turned all the recent leaks and rumors true by announcing it’s all new OnePlus 6T, featuring an in-display fingerprint sensor.

According to The Verge, the phone comes in with a tiny notch and for the first time, an in-display fingerprint sensor that it calls ‘Screen Unlock’ and claims to be the fastest-performing implementation of in-display fingerprint authentication yet. The phone will have three versions: 128GB/6GB RAM, 128GB/8GB RAM, and 256GB/8GB RAM.

In terms of battery life, OnePlus 6T will have a 3,700mAh battery. Featuring dual 16MP and 20MP cameras, 6T offers optical image stabilization, Nightscape feature for low-light photography, and new Studio Lighting feature for better portraits.

The phone runs on the latest Android 9 Pie along with the company’s own software, OxygenOS. Moreover, the company said that the phone will provide a fluid, lag-free software experience, outperforming other flagships with smoother and consistent gaming.

“The OnePlus 6T clocks some serious speed, and we wanted our customers to unleash it on the fastest network in the nation,” Pete Lau, CEO of OnePlus, said in a statement.

Apart from the amazing features, the phones have an affordable price range as compared to other 2018 flagship phones. The 128GB/6GB RAM will be available for $549, 128GB/8GB RAM will be priced at $579, and 256GB/8GB RAM will cost $629.

For the first time partnering with US mobile carrier T-Mobile, the phone will be available for direct sales too instead of limiting it to online purchases. At launch, the phone will be available in ‘Mirror Black’ and ‘Midnight (matte) Black’ colors.

Furthermore, according to Daily Mail, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer claimed to launch a 5G phone next year.
