SIALKOT: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has formulated a new SME Policy under its Vision 2020. It was revealed in a seminar on policy for promotion of SME through awareness, jointly organised by the SBP and Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers and Exporters Association here Monday evening.

SBP Deputy Director Shaista Sidiq told the participants that the SME sector was playing an instrumental role in strengthening of national economy and providing employment opportunities to a large number of people.

SBP Assistant Director Ali Raza said that to achieve the objectives, a policy had been prepared for promotion of SME Finance (Conventional and Islamic) in Pakistan.

Representative of PHMEA Sohail Raza Dudhi and Nadeem Abdullah of PGMEA also spoke on the occasion.
