President Alvi administers oath to six new cabinet members

Six more cabinet members took oath on Tuesday at the President House.

The six members, three federal ministers and three ministers of state were administered oath by President Arif Alvi. The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Imran Khan, senior government officials and  members of the Federal Cabinet, local media reported.

The portfolios of the new federal and state ministers will be announced later.

The three Federal Ministers sworn in are Omer Ayub, Ali Muhammad Khan Mehar and Syed Ali Haider Zaidi. While, Muhammad Shabir Ali, Murad Saeed and Muhammad Hammad Azhar were sworn in as ministers of state.

Initially, the cabinet included 16 federal ministers and five advisers. They were sworn on August 20 by former President Mamnoon Hussain. Later, PM Khan appointed Shehryar Afridi as Interior Minister.
