PCB honours deaf cricket team

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Shaharyar Khan honoured Pakistan Deaf cricket team which won the four-nation inaugural DICC Championship 2016 held from March 7 to 15, 2016 in the UAE. Pakistani team won three out of their four matches in the tournament which included India, England and South Africa. It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan Deaf Cricket Team has won all the tournaments/championships since 2006.
In a ceremony at the National Cricket Academy (NCA), Chairman PCB distributed cash prize of Rs 100,000/- each among 14 players of the team. Addressing the players, Chairman PCB said," Deaf cricket team has won laurels for the country by winning the tournament and the whole nation is proud of their splendid performance. He reiterated that deaf players are ambassadors of Pakistan and they have proved this fact through excellent teamwork on and off the field. He expressed his full support to the Deaf association on behalf of the Board".
Abdul Salaam, President of Deaf Cricket Association on this occasion thanked the Chairman PCB for honoring the deaf cricket team. He said," Chairman PCB Shaharyar Khan had granted them financial support for the first time during his last tenure in 2006 and the association was grateful that Chairman PCB was around this time and honoring them again."
