29 Mar, 2016

Pakistan People's Party (PPP) has submitted an adjournment motion to the National Assembly Secretariat regarding law and order situation in the country, especially in the federal capital Islamabad. The adjournment motion was submitted by PPP MNAs Shazia Mari, Dr Nafisa Shah, Mir Aijaz Jakhrani, Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah and Makhdoom Mustafa Mehmood on Monday to the National Assembly Secretariat.
According to an adjournment motion, "We the undersigned demand immediate attention of the government, especially Minister for Interior towards deteriorating law and order situation in the country in general and in Federal capital in particular. The present situation poses serious threat to the life and property of people living in Islamabad and adjacent areas. The life in the capital city has been brought to standstill due to shear negligence of the government who remained unable to maintain law and order in the city.
The government failed to make sufficient prior security arrangements despite knowing the intensity of the events. Such security lapses on the part of the government are highly intolerable and needs to be questioned. This is a very sensitive matter of grave concern and needs immediate attention.
