Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan while talking to the media on Monday stated that in order to improve the current situation faced by the country, there is a need to depoliticise the police department. Khan visited the Jinnah Hospital where he met with the injured victims of the Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park blast in Lahore that took place on Sunday and claimed the lives of over 70 people and left more than 300 injured.
Khan stated that making innocent little children victims of terrorism is a condemnable act, adding that in order to improve the current security crisis of the country, the police which has been ordered to protect the politicians should be directed to better the overall security situation. While answering a question, Khan said that once again it is time to be united while keeping political differences aside for the sake of national interest. He went to say that all of us are victims of terrorism and that the terrorists have martyred our innocent children mercilessly. He also said that to conduct an indiscriminate operation in all the provinces in order to wipe out terrorism is the need of the hour. While referring to the attack on the Army Public School (APS) in Peshawar, Khan said that it is utmost disturbing that at first the terrorists attacked the children at APS and have now attacked the innocent ones in Lahore.
