MCCI hails chief minister's Kisan Package

The business community of Southern Punjab has welcomed the Chief Minister Mian Shahbaz Sharif's Rs 100 billion package for the growth and development of the agriculture sector in the province describing it a good step to save the agriculture. President of Multan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (MCCI) Fareed Mughis Sheikh said that this package would bring a revolution in agricultural sector in Punjab.
He said education, research and planners were needed for enhancing per acre yield of crops, supply of good quality and certified seeds, fertilizers, insecticides, pesticides and other inputs.
He added that modern technology and cheap agriculture inputs were vital to increase yield of crops. He said that Agricultural scientists, progressive growers and all working groups should sit together and come up with recommendations so that in light of which improvement and betterment could be ensured to boost agriculture in the province.
MCCI President said that our cotton production should be 20 million bales, and our wheat production must be doubled of existing production. He also hailed the Government's decision that a Kisan Commission was being formed.
