SSGC disconnects illegal gas connection

The joint team of Surveillance and Monitoring, Distribution and Maintenance, CRD's task force and Security Department of Sui Southern Gas conducted a raid at a famous restaurant located in KDA Scheme No 1, near Shahrah-e-Faisal, Karachi and illegal gas connections were cut off on theft charges.
According to the details, owners of a famous restaurant, established in Bungalow No B-12, of KDA Scheme 1, near Shahrah-e-Faisal, were stealing gas from SSGC's main distribution line, containing a pressure of 12.15 pond per square inch, through a G.I. pipe for the last 6 months. The actual gas connection of the restaurant was already disconnected by Company authorities about 6 months ago on the charges of usage of the domestic connection for commercial purpose.
Monitoring Department received confirmed information through its reliable sources, that owner of restaurant were stealing gas through an illegal direct connection after discontinuation of domestic gas link by SSGC.
Team officials cut off illegal gas connection from main distribution line and took all the pipeline and other allied accessories in their custody. About 1,945 cubic feet gas per hour was being stolen, amounting to Rs 500,000 per month.-PR
