SDA employees' writ petition disposed of by PHC

A case filed against KPK Government /Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zone Development and Management Company (KPEZDMC) by Sarhad Development Authority (SDA) Employee Union has been disposed of by Peshawar High Court. The Attorney General assured the court that the SDA has not been dissolved, and all the employees of SDA remain intact. In case of dissolution of SDA, the government will abide by SDA constituent ACT and the applicable laws.
KPEZDMC, which is wholly owned by KPK Government, is set up as a public sector company to expedite industrialisation in the province which remained neglected in the previous era, according to statement issued by KPEZDMC. The primary focus of the company is to create employment opportunities by creating a facilitating environment for industrialists to set up new as well as revive sick industrial units. In order to curb menace of terrorism, the company has been established to create jobs and uplift of economy of the province.
Consequent to disposition of the case, KPEZDMC management started to move forward with full throttle. Plot allotments at Hattar Economic Zone will start in March 2016. Peshawar Economic Zone will hold ground breaking in April 2016 and remaining Economic Zones will be inaugurated this year. Going forward, the company targets to develop new economic zones at different locations including Ghazi, Jalozai, Rashakai/M-1, Karak/Kohat, Bannu, D I Khan and Swat to bring economic prosperity and fully capitalize on opportunities created by Pak-China Economic Corridor. Social and economic uplift as well as ensuring sustainable economic development in the province remains the focus of KPEZDMC.
