Rumours about Altaf part of conspiracy: MQM convenor

10 Mar, 2016

Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Wednesday denied rumours regarding deteriorating health of the party chief Altaf Hussain. In a statement, Nadeem Nusrat, London-based MQM convenor, said Altaf Hussain is in good health, terming rumours 'lies and baseless'. "Altaf Hussain is absolutely fine and he is performing his routine private and organisational duties and in constant contact with Rabita Committees, and other office bearers," Nadeem said.
He claimed rumours are being spread as part of a planned conspiracy against the MQM. The rumours were rife on social media that the MQM chief was "clinically dead" and that he was put on a ventilator.
