APWA celebrating 67th Founders' Day

APWA on Monday being the anniversary of the Founding Day by Begum Ra'ana Liaquat All Khan is celebrating its 67th years of working for the uplift and empowerment of women and children.
In the educational field, two new schools were inaugurated by President APWA, Meherafroze Habib. Children up to seven years from Class I to Ill were enrolled. These schools are in low income areas in Korangi and Liaquatabad. Already we have 40 children. Admissions are still open. Quran Khawani in all six APWA's schools was held.
A Milad was organised at Ayesha Siddiqa School. The school has 500 students.
Sports Day competition took place at APWA Orangi School which has 400 students.
Fancy Dress, Drama and Tableau held in Sadiqabad and Yousuf Goth Schools.
Yousuf Goth is situated near the Balochistan Border. The school has 400 students. All the above programmes were well attended by the students, parents and guests.
APWA Teachers Training was organised with the collaboration of Sindh Teachers Education Development Authority (STEDA), Government of Sindh.
A Programme was organised at APWA National Headquarters for distribution of Certificates to the participating teachers who successfully completed the Teachers Professional Development Training Workshop 2016.
The trainers were present and the teachers received Certificates by the President. Hi-tea was held at the end of the event.
In the Health Section, various medical camps were set up. The APWA Medical Centre in North Nazimabad held a Bone Density Clinic. 110 women were screened and 70% were found to be calcium deficit.
Nutritional advice and medication was dispersed free of cost. APWA carries on the mission of the late Begum Ra'ana Liaquat Ali Khan, and every member is dedicated towards the goal of women empowerment.-PR
