On Wednesday, at Pakistan Mercantile Exchange (PMEX), value traded was PKR 5,019 million as compared to PKR 4,183 million reported on Tuesday, an increase of 20 percent. The number of lots traded also increased by 12 percent to 18.76 million from 16.73 million. PMEX Commodity Index closed at 2,508. Major business was contributed by gold amounting to PKR 4,018 million. This was followed by crude oil (PKR 949.26 million), silver (PKR 49.79 million) and cotton (PKR 1.63 million).
