SU vice chancellor visits Badin campus

Professor Dr Abida Taherani, Vice Chancellor, the University of Sindh, Jamshoro visited University of Sindh Laar Campus Badin. Professor Dr Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro briefed the VC about the growth, development of the campus along with the issues coupled with viable solution for further development of the campus. She visited the campus and showed her profound satisfaction at the smooth course of academic and administrative activities.
During orientation session with students, she welcomed the fresh batch of students for the academic year 2016. She reiterated the growth and appreciated the productivity and contribution of the campus for the far-flung region of Sindh, where the students owing to financial constraints cannot join mainstream urban institutes of higher education. She advised students to excel in learning and academics.
She announced that the university will initiate an innovative step of a student exchange program on credit-hour transfer basis, in which a small number of students of additional campuses would find an opportunity to study and learn with students of main campus which would add to their grooming, learning and professional development.
She also proposed that such exchange program will also be launched for the faculty members for their professional development. She proposed that campus should introduce short-term certificate courses of communication skills, project management, computer technology and proposal writing to meet the demand of present-day market. The Vice Chancellor also recognized and appreciated Ufak Fatima Hyderi who got first position in the per-entrance test of the academic year 2015. She secured 390 out of 400 marks with 97.5 percentage. She also informed her that as per university policy, she will be rewarded with the cash prize in the special ceremony that will be held in the main campus.
She also advised other students to follow Ufak Fatima in the quest of competition in the higher education. The Vice Chancellor added that the sub-campuses of the University of Sindh, Jamshoro functioning in different districts of the province of Sindh, one day Inshah Allah, will become full-fledged universities and would contribute to the uplift and socio-economic development of the regions.
The Vice Chancellor recognized and appreciated Professor Dr Muhammad Siddique Kalhoro, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Professor Hayat Keerio, Principal of the campus, the faculty and staff for their dedication, commitment, devotion and services in academics, administration, co-curricular and sport activities. She also appreciated students (boys and girls) for their interest in education with proper attendance and enthusiasm.
