The Supreme Court (SC) on Saturday ordered Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Imran Ali Shah to donate Rs 3 million to the Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand Dams Fund 2018 for thrashing a citizen..

Taking up the suo motu case hearing, the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Saqib Nisar remarked that nobody even beats an animal like Shah had beaten Dawood Chohan.

The CJP came down hard upon the newly elected MNA and dared Shah to beat him up in the public. The PTI MNA replied that he was embarrassed and apologized for his actions, local media reported. However, Justice Nisar said that his offence was inexcusable.

When the judge asked the victim as to why he had forgiven Shah, Chauhan replied that the nominated governor of Sindh came to his residence after which he pardoned the PTI MNA.

Earlier in August, Shah was caught on video slapping Chauhan multiple times during a heated argument in the middle of National Stadium Road in Karachi. The video, which went viral, showed that Shah was accompanied by his armed guards, who also threatened the man.

The MPA had later visited Chuhan’s house and apologized for his behavior. Chauhan had forgiven the PTI MPA. "We had resolved the matter where after Shah slapped me. I’m a poor man I don’t wish to pursue any legal action,” Chauhan said while talking to the media.
