On the occasion of the first anniversary of the tragic event of Army Public School (APS) Peshawar, Suhail Mohd Al Zarooni, Head of UAE Business Group and Chairman, Al Zarooni Foundation hosted the memorial ceremony to show solidarity with the families of the affected and with the people of Pakistan. The Passport Counsellor of Pakistan Consulate Dubai, UAE Riaz Khattak was the guest of honour. The event was largely attended by many friends, businessmen, philanthropists and others.
Suhail Mohd Al Zarooni said, "Many children and youth in conflict zones are being injured, killed, kidnapped, recruited and traumatized. Armed conflict negatively impacts children's access to school, and interrupts the studies of enrolled students. As we look forward to implementing a new education agenda post-2015, it is vital that the particular needs of children in conflict-affected areas are addressed, a human right to education assured."
