Food outlets found involved in adulteration sealed

Punjab Food Authority (PFA) continued its crusade against those flouting hygiene rules or involved in adulteration during the holidays of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH) and Quaid-e-Azam Day and sealed or fined numerous food outlets on different charges. PFA's Director General cancelled the holidays of his organization's operation wing staff to ensure provision of quality food during the holidays.
PFA field team led by its Director Operations Ayesha Mumtaz sealed one 'Jhoolay Laal' fish corner on the charges of very poor cleanliness and employing workers without medical certificate. Similarly she sealed Ahmed Bakery because of poor hygiene conditions, not printing date of manufacturing or expiry on eatables and allowing smoking in the production area.
While Data Ganj Bukhsh Town team sealed Nadeem Sweets and Munshi Sweets because of poor cleanliness while a few other teams fined Gourmet Bakers outlets situated at Model Town Link Road, Model Town A Balock and C Block. On Saturday, Ravi Town field team sealed nine different shops including Husnain Chatkhara, Faryad Milk shop, Roghani Naan Shop, Bao Bakers and Lahori Naan Shop on the charges of poor cleanliness while Ali Hajveri Paan Shop, Almadina Departmental Store, Shehzad Paan Shop and Madina Super Store were closed down on the charges of not having license to do business.
Gulberg Town Team sealed Tabbasum Paan Shop, Bilal Paan Shop, Madina Store, Chaudhry Store and Punjab Naan Shop for not having license despite issuing a notice in this regard in the past. The same team imposed heavy fine on Tayyaba Milk Shop, Lahori Naan Shop, Chaand Halwa Puri, Hafiz Mutton Channay and Amin Hotel on the charges of poor cleanliness. Allama Iqbal Team and Samabad Town Teams imposed heavy fines on Chaska Hote, Asghar Hotel, Dilkusha Hotel and Bholay ka Hotel, Mehtab Milkshop, Best Nimko and Tariq Bakery on the charges of bad cleanliness with notices to improve the situation.
