Met Office issues advisory for farmers

The Met Office said on Wednesday that the present soil dampness would help cultivate winter vegetables. Cotton growers should prepare their field for coming Rabi crops and complete sowing on time. "Farmers are advised to cultivate late verities in December," it said.
Farmers of rain-fed areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab should complete cultivation of Rabi crops at earliest. The status of soil moisture is very suitable after rains during the season, it said. Mainly dry weather is expected in Punjab with scattered light to moderate rainfall in Faisalabad, Gujranwala, Lahore and Rawalpindi divisions from December 7 to 9. Dry weather is expected in the most parts of Sindh.
Widely cold and dry weather is expected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with light to moderate rainfall with snowfall in scattered places of Hazara, Malakand, Mardan, Peshawar and Kohat divisions from December 7 to 10. Weather in Balochistan is expected to remain mainly cold and dry in its most parts with light to moderate rain is expected in Quetta, Sibbi and Gwadar districts on December 7 and 8. In Gilgit-Baltistan, mainly dry weather is expected in its most parts with light to moderate rain with snowfall in Gilgit and Skardu from December 7 to 10. Light to moderate rainfall with snowfall is expected in most of the parts of Kashmir including Rawalakot, Muzzaffarabad and Kotli divisions from December 8 to 10.
