Gold ounces transferred between accounts held by bullion clearers rose 2 percent to a daily average of 15.9 million ounces in October from a month earlier, the London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) said on Monday. The clearing statistics measure how much gold and silver are transferred on a net basis between the accounts held at the bullion clearers.
The average fixing rose 3.1 percent, while value rose to a daily average of $18.4 billion, up 5.2 percent. The number of transfers was flat at 2,351. Ounces transferred in silver fell 16.6 percent to a daily average of 136.4 million. The value of transfers fell 11 percent to a daily average of $2.14 billion. The number of transfers was broadly unchanged at a daily average of 686.
