Electioneering picking momentum in Karachi

Political activities in the city are gaining momentum as date for local body election draws nearer. Business activities related to electioneering; printing, outdoor advertising and car-rentals - are picking up. With a surge in demand for printing election materials, candidates are using penaflex, posters, and other means of advertisement to publicise their slogans.
Quite a lot of billboards of political parties have been popped up in the city having party slogans and names of candidates contesting elections. Workers of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM), Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Pakistan People's Party (PPP) have geared up their electioneering for the December 5 local bodies election to be held in the port city. The candidates contesting LG polls are not only visiting voters by going door to door but holding corner meetings daily in different areas of their respective constituencies.
The contesting parties are busy in electioneering through corner meetings and flooded the city with banners and posters with the pictures of their candidates and their election symbols. The parties have also started distributing slips containing name of the voter and his or her poling station name and serial number in voter list.
