China offers assistance for earthquake victims

The Islamabad based Chinese Ambassador Sun Weidong today called on the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Pervez Khattak to convey the condolences of Chinese people and government over the losses of precious lives during the recent earth quake in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He remained with the Chief Minister for some time stating that the people of Pakistan and China have strong brotherly relations and they feel each other's pains like family members. While expressing sympathies with the affected families, the Ambassador also offered every kind of assistance from the government and people of China for the rehabilitation of the earthquake victims.
On this occasion, other matters of mutual importance particularly investment opportunities in and the development of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa like construction of Swat express way, the development of hydro power generation, higher education and oil and gas exploration opportunities were also discussed. The Chief Minister appreciated this gesture of the Chinese and hoped that their friendly relations will further cement with the passage of time. Besides others Additional Chief Secretary KP, the Principal Secretary to CM and high ups of P&DD were also present on the occasion.
