198 councillors out of 384 elected unopposed in Hyderabad: MQM

Deputy Convenor, MQM Rabbita Committee Hyderabad, Shahid Pasha has said that the majority of candidates contesting in local bodies' election have been elected unopposed in Hyderabad district. Addressing a press conference at Hasrat Mohani Home Stand Hall, here on Sunday, he congratulated the party workers and said that as many as 22 candidates for the slots of Chairman and Vice Chairman have been declared successful so far.
Similarly, of 384 total seats of general councillors, 198 MQM candidates were elected unopposed as councillors, he said while expressing joyfulness over the success with clear majority in local bodies' elections.
This success was due to sacrifices made by party Chief Altaf Hussain Bhai and thousands of party worker, who laid down their lives for the cause of the party and people in Sindh province, he added.
There is no one, who can defeat the MQM and its leadership, he maintained, adding that the MQM would continue its work of service for the people of Sindh. Shabir Ahmed Qaimkhani, Arshad Hassan, Aslam Afridi, Umer Qureshi, Naveed Shamsi and member of Sindh Assembly and party workers were also present on the occasion.
